The council planned to relaunch its Invest in South Lakeland web site in 2018 and awarded Trafalgar PR the contract to provide communications support. Working with a dedicated social media specialist partner, TPR developed a plan to use communications activity across conventional media and on-line channels to promote the web site and the broader activity of the council’s Economic Development team. Much of this involved creating new content for posts on LinkedIn, Twitter and a new Facebook page for Invest in South Lakeland. We also arranged a competition with a local hotel to on-line encourage engagement and worked with business organisations to link the launch to a high profile business event already taking place – maximising the limited budget.
Outcome: A significantly higher profile for the Economic Development Unit and the new Invest in South Lakeland website, and wider engagement with the authority in its business-related activity.
