Furness Building Society wanted to create an innovative way of connecting with local charities and good causes across their branch network, in support of their excellent affinity accounts.
Trafalgar PR worked with FBS to develop and deliver the concept of an X-Factor-style talent show where the acts competed to win cash prizes for their chosen charities. The competition featured on-line auditions submitted by contestants and published on the Charity Challenge web pages, and we linked up with The Bay Radio to promote the competition and encourage voting by the public to determine ‘wild card’ entries.
Trafalgar PR managed the process, liaised with charities and contestants and handled media relations across the North West, along with co-ordinating the live final at the Lancaster Grand Theatre.
Outcome: Charity Challenge ran for 5 years successfully promoting the Society’s commitment to local communities and the affinity accounts. It also generated thousands of pounds for good causes while raising the profiles of the charities, and the performers appearing on their behalf.
